Portugal PM is chief guest; 8 CMs to take part
External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj will inaugurate the Youth PBD on January 7. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the PBD on January 8; Prime Minister of Portugal Dr Antonio Costa, who traces his roots in Goa, will be the chief guest. Antonio Costa will visit his ancestral place in Margao between January 11 and 12.
A large number of participants from middleclass non-resident Indian (NRI) families to the more affluent PIO businessmen will be arriving over the weekend to the city and interacting with the Indian government airing their concerns and suggestions.
The closing day, on January 9, will see President Pranab Mukherjee presiding over the event. The event will have heads of seven states—f Puducherry, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Assam, Kerala, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
Around 41 exhibitors, including the North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation Ltd (NEHHDC) will set up stalls at the venue.
